When I’m overwhelmed, my tendency is to briefly review my options and then make a decision. I don’t want to dwell on things. I don’t want to process every minute detail. I don’t want a decision weighing on me and consuming my energy. If there’s a decision to be made, I review the known facts/options, and make the best decision possible. Be done. Move on. As I prepared to interact with my competitors face-to-face, I thought about what the Bible has to say about how to treat people – our enemies. We are to love them. We are to live in harmony with them. We are to pray for them. I read over those verses. And I felt totally convicted, and then strangely filled with peace.

Ernie and I have been riding on our dirt road frequently. The road is covered with not-so-crushed rocks that hurt Ernie’s feet. We continue riding on the road even though it’s not comfortable for Ernie because it’s quick and convenient, and it’s what we know.
